Stand Against Racism
Join us on April 27, 2018 for Stand Against Racism, a national initiative of the YWCA USA. Locally, the YWCA Bucks County joins over 750 sites nationwide to advocate and lead activities that deliver a clear message that we are on a mission to eliminate racism. Participants read and sign the Stand Against Racism pledge to do their part to eliminate racism in their community.
This year’s theme is “Our Power, Our Mission, Our Future.” Voting rights and civic engagement are, and have always been, core components of racial justice work. As civil rights continue to be eroded for communities of color, we must work to support full access and engagement for women and girls of color in the political process. Throughout the campaign, we will highlight ways that we can be civically engaged and support the communities we serve; raise awareness about barriers to civic participation for historically disenfranchised and marginalized groups, many of whom are our
clients and community members; and share ideas for action and change
