NOVA received a $2,800 donation from the Kutt Family following the Jason Kutt Annual Car Meet at Lake Nockamixon last fall. The event was held in honor of 18-year-old Jason Kutt, who tragically lost his life in a hunting accident at Lake Nockamixon on October 24, 2020. Jason was a car enthusiast and his family holds an annual car meet to celebrate Jason’s life and memory. Car enthusiasts and people from across the region participated in the event which brings the community together to share stories about Jason and cars.

Since Jason’s passing, the Kutt family has launched a website https://www.jasonkuttlegacyfund.org and organized fundraisers in Jason’s honor to raise money and foster changes in the community aimed at keeping neighborhoods safe. The family has a Facebook page titled “Justice for Jason Kutt,” where the family posts upcoming fundraisers and events, and a Facebook group called The Jason Kutt Legacy Fund, Inc.

The Kutt family encourages community members to check the website, join the Facebook group and follow the Facebook page, in order to keep up with the family’s advocacy efforts and support causes that promote hunting safety and responsibility.

The Kutt family is grateful for the advocacy and support NOVA provided to the family during their time of need. Dana Kutt, Jason’s mother, expressed her family’s gratitude for everything that NOVA and its advocates have done to support them through the legal process surrounding Jason’s death. “We are thankful for the service animals and the advocacy in court that the organization provided to us when we had no idea where to start.” To show their gratitude to NOVA for all that the organization did for them, the Kutts support NOVA by donating the proceeds of the annual car meet to the organization. In addition, the family hopes their donations will help raise awareness about NOVA and the services it provides.

“We are most grateful to the Kutt family for their donations to NOVA and their efforts to raise awareness about the ways NOVA assists individuals and families in Bucks County that have been impacted by a crime,” said Penny Ettinger, Executive Director, NOVA. “Their gifts will help us in our mission to prevent and eliminate violence.”
