We all know the stress in planning any party let alone a party connected to your livelihood.  Here are a few great ways to make the party planning seamless.

First off selecting a theme is a great way to start off the planning.  Choose an option that is inclusive to all religious affiliations.  One idea is a winter wonderland theme.  Representation for all holidays in subtle and elegant way makes all of the employees feel seen an appreciated.

Selecting a guest list is determined by the number of employees as well as if the company is allowing for families and children to attend.

Entertainment is something that often times can get forgotten in the planning process.  One question to ask yourself is if there is going to be dancing at this event?  Is it a more family friendly event where maybe a balloon artist or face painter would be a nice touch? Or is it an adult only party where a live band would be a hit.

Food is always a favorite topic to discuss in holiday party planning.  One question to ask yourself is will the event be a breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner event?  Would a cocktail hour with passed hors d’oeuvres, farmers table, and pasta station be the vibe for a dinner party or do you imagine a Santa brunch with an omelet station? Maybe you see this event as a served lunch event with salads and sandwiches? The options are endless.

Choosing the perfect day, time, and location can be difficult with everyone having busy schedules.  One thing to consider with holiday party planning and your organization is if December is your busy season.  Would hosting an event in November, January, or February be less stressful for you and your staff? Remember party planning can feel like a full-time job.  This event is meant to be enjoyable, always consider the current work load when selecting a date and time.  Doing this will put you and your employees in a more festive state of mind.   For the question of location where is your company headquarters? What is the average commute time for your employees? Considering all of these factors will show your employees how much you truly care about each and everyone of them.

Budget, budget, budget… this is always a touchy subject.  It is natural to want to get the best bang for your buck.  Figuring out what is most important to your organization and considering where to place the available funds can be tough to balance.  Getting feedback from your team members is always recommended. Once you have that information organizing your budget will be seamless.

Building an event planning team is a great way to spread out the work load.  As long as everyone knows what their responsibilities are the planning will run smoothly.
