NOVA received a $3,200 donation from the Kutt Family representing the proceeds from the Jason Kutt Annual Car Meet, held in August at The Home Depot in Souderton, Pa. The event is held in honor of Jason Kutt, who tragically lost his life at the age of 18, due to a hunting accident at Lake Nockamixon on October 24, 2020. Jason was a car enthusiast and his family holds an annual car meet to celebrate Jason’s life and memory. Car enthusiasts and people from across the region participated in the event, which brought the community together to share stories about Jason and cars.

Since Jason’s passing, the Kutt family has launched a website https://www.jasonkuttlegacyfund.org and organized fundraising events in Jason’s honor to raise money and foster changes in the community aimed at keeping neighborhoods safe. The family has a Facebook page titled “Justice for Jason Kutt,” where the family posts upcoming fundraisers and events, and a Facebook group called The Jason Kutt Legacy Fund, Inc. The Kutt family encourages community members to visit the website, join the Facebook group, and follow the Facebook page, in order to keep up with the family’s advocacy efforts and support causes that promote hunting safety and responsibility.

Dana Kutt, Jason’s mother, expressed her family’s gratitude for all that NOVA and its advocates have done to support them through the legal process surrounding Jason’s death. “We cannot thank NOVA enough. Because of their expertise, resources and support, we as a family are in a much better place. The road to recovery after being a victim of crime is a long one, and with NOVA’s help, we know we will come out of this situation stronger,” Kutt stated. To show their gratitude to NOVA for its ongoing support, the Kutts donate the proceeds of the annual car meet to the organization. In turn, the family hopes their donation will help raise awareness about NOVA and the services the organization provides.

We are so grateful to the Jason Kutt Memorial Fund for their support of NOVA,” said Michelle Cash, Director of Development. “The car show is a wonderful, fun, community event and a very important way to raise awareness about NOVA’s services and programs.” Cash continued, “We applaud the courage and dedication of the Kutt family to take the circumstances of their son’s tragic death and turn it into an opportunity to raise awareness in the community about hunting safety and responsibility.”
