The Payroll Factory, Inc. May 2021 Newsletter

I hope tax season is treating you well.

The City of Philadelphia has updated its Paid Sick Leave requirements for Philadelphia employers with 50 or more employees.  Effective March 29th, 2021 those employers must provide up to 80 hours of paid sick leave to certain employees who request it for certain Covid 19 reasons.  The particular hours must be used prior to existing eligible employee’s existing accrued paid time off banks for certain employees.

Although year end is a number of months away, it never hurts for your clients to review their employee Masterfile information to correct spelling of names, addresses, rate of pay, social security numbers, marital status and employee deductions.  There are times an employee never checks their paystub to make note of errors.

Direct Deposit is an outstanding employee benefit your clients if not already using should really consider.  Surveys done via NACHA which is the electronic payments association and the American Payroll Association shows between 82-93% utilization by the employees.

As always “whatever it takes,” I look forward to working with you, your associates and above all your clients.  Thank you very much and have a successful tax season.

Sincerely,

Steve Sabel
