Network of Victim Assistance (NOVA) is pleased to announce that it received a generous donation of $23,000 from the 100+ Women Who Care Bucks County. These funds will benefit NOVA’s Child Advocacy Center and its work to provide a safe and child-friendly environment where staff, law enforcement, medical and mental health professionals work together in a coordinated manner to investigate cases of suspected child abuse.

100+ Women Who Care Bucks County is unique among philanthropic organizations in its very simple fundraising concept. 100 or more women meet four times a year for one hour and each donates $100 per meeting, with the goal of raising money to be donated to local nonprofit organizations – one organization per quarter. Members are given the opportunity to nominate an organization and three names are randomly selected to pitch the group at the next quarter’s meeting. The members vote by ballot after the organizations make their presentations and whichever organization receives the most votes will receive the donations collected that quarter from 100+ Women Who Care Bucks County members. Penelope Ettinger, Executive Director, NOVA, met with the group in June and made a pitch for NOVA’s Child Advocacy Center. “We are very grateful that our Child Advocacy Center was chosen by 100+ Women Who Care Bucks County,” said Ettinger. “This donation will allow us to both continue the center’s important work and help those children who need the center’s services.”

Now more than 200 members strong, 100+ Women Who Care Bucks County strives to donate $20,000 per year to each of four deserving nonprofits. “It shows the impact a woman can have when her resources are pooled with other like-minded women to make a significant difference in the lives of others, said Lynne Kelleher, founder of 100+ Women Who Care Bucks County. I am truly amazed - and humbled - by what we do.”
