Joseph C. Bondi of New Hope was recently elected as President of the Family Service Association of Bucks County Board of Directors for the 2017-2018 term.

Mr. Bondi, Vice President of Finance at Johnson & Johnson and active community leader, has served as a member of Family Service’s board for five years. Prior to joining Family Service, he served as Treasurer of the American Red Cross of Bucks County and as a member of St. Mary Medical Center Foundation’s Board of Directors. Joe is also actively involved with Toys for Tots in Bucks County.

Joe and his wife Cathy of 36 years reside in New Hope. They have three grown children and two grandchildren. Joe earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting from Seton Hall University and his Master of Business Administration in finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He brings 39 years of diversified financial experience to his new role.

Family Service’s mission is to listen, care and help. Every day. Each year, the nonprofit organization helps more than 27,000 members of the Bucks County community by providing a wide range of services including emergency housing, suicide prevention, parent education, recovery support and much more.

Joe is focused on helping Family Service continue to grow and expand to meet the unmet and ever-changing needs of our community to help those most in need. “I consider myself very fortunate to be a part of this great organization. I am very excited about working more closely with Chief Executive Officer Audrey J. Tucker, the talented Family Service team and my fellow members of the Board of Directors to fulfill the important mission of Family Service.”

The role of Board President does not come without its challenges. “As with any non-profit organization, there are many barriers we will face including funding uncertainty, increasing demand for services, higher regulatory requirements, increasing cost and complexity and competition for the very best talent,” acknowledges Mr. Bondi. Still, he believes that “Family Service is very well positioned with strong leadership and a diverse and fully engaged Board of Directors to meet these challenges and continue to grow and thrive.”
