The owners of startups
and local small businesses can learn the ins and outs of financing options and
other information related to acquiring a small business loan during SCORE Bucks
County’s Show Me the Money panel discussion and workshop
Features include:

are experienced banking professionals with diversified backgrounds.
- Panel members
will provide valuable insights into business lending credit approval decisions.
- The SBA
representative can speak to the agency’s role in loan guarantee programs.
- Attendees should
leave with a better understanding of when financial information they will need
to have when applying for business financing.
The panel will be
led by SCORE Mentor Richard Kroger with panelists Gary Horan from Truist (formerly
BB&T), James Verbeck from SBA, John Hosey from C&N Bank, and Carolyn
Nicolosi for Penn Community Bank.
About the Panelists:
Richard Kroger is a SCORE Bucks County volunteer and certified
mentor. In his professional career, he worked for 30 years in the business
financing industry, including 10 years as an SBA lender.
Gary Horan has been part of the Philadelphia banking community
for the past 40+ years; most recently with BB&T, now Truist team since
2011. He has extensive experience in providing financial solutions mostly to
family-owned businesses in the greater Philadelphia region and throughout the
Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland markets.
James Verbeck, Lender Relations Specialist, with the Eastern
Pennsylvania District Office Team after serving as a Loan Specialist at the
Agency’s National Guaranty Purchase Center (NGPC). Previous to joining the SBA,
Jim served as a loan specialist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture/Rural
Development in Community Programs, and the Federal Deposit Insurance
Corporation (FDIC).
John Hosey is a Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer at
C&N Bank, formerly Monument Bank, a position he’s held for the last eight
years. John’s office is in Warminster, PA and his focus is mainly commercial
transactions starting at $500,00 for owner-occupied and investment real estate properties.
Carolyn Nicolosi is a Small Business Lending Manager at Penn Community
Bank, a position she’s had for almost three years. Carolyn’s office is in
Perkasie, PA, and she has also been a SCORE Mentor since June 2018. She is a
graduate of York College with a B.S. degree in Business Management.
