The Payroll Factory, Inc. March 2024 Newsletter
We turn our attention to March and for accountants it means
the corporate tax reporting deadline of March 15th and working on personal returns for clients besides filling out brackets for March Madness and the sound of “play ball” and baseball season at the end of this month.
A few states in the country have enacted Paid Family Leave
policies. The Paid Family Leave program encompasses Parental, Family
Caregiving, Personal Medical, Military Care and Safety Leave Among the neighboring states that have
enacted Paid Family Leave include New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts,
Connecticut, New Hampshire, Delaware, Maryland and District of Columbia.
Are you aware of Pension Linked Emergency Savings
Accounts? The Department of Labor in
January introduced this account as a short term savings account and maintained
as part of a retirement service vehicle. Only employees would be eligible for
this account and employers can set up lifetime limits of up to $2500, enroll
employees and make matching employer contributions. Highly compensated employees are not
eligible.
Please feel free to circulate the newsletter to your clients and staff. As always “whatever it takes,” I look forward to working with you, your associates and above all your clients.
Sincerely,
Steve Sabel
