NETWORK OF VICTIM ASSISTANCE WELCOMES THREE BOARD MEMBERS Two psychologists join NOVA and a lifelong educator returns

BUCKS COUNTY, PA. Network of Victim Assistance (NOVA) is pleased to welcome three board members. They are Stephen Albert, Ph.D., Twain Gonzales, Ph.D.  and Andrew Kind-Rubin, Ph.D.

 

Stephen Albert began his career as an English teacher in Maine at a school for young adults who did not complete high school. He has worked as educator and administrator for 45 years, 30 of them in Bucks County. Albert also serves on the boards of C.B. Cares Educational Foundation and VITA. Albert has served two previous terms on the NOVA board and is returning for his third term. He lives in Doylestown with his wife Barbara Wachter.

 

Dr. Twain Gonzales is a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked in a private psychology practice for over two decades, while serving as clinical director of a nonprofit agency that provides services to at-risk youth in Philadelphia. Gonzales worked as a clinical psychologist within the Delaware State Prison system and also co-founded and operated the highly successful Buttery Restaurant in Lewes, Delaware with his spouse John Donato. Gonzales will retire as the Disabilities Support Counselor at Delaware Technical Community College’s Wilmington campus this summer. He and his husband have recently settled in Newtown Borough, Bucks County. 

Andrew Kind-Rubin, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and certified school psychologist who has worked in the field of child and family mental health for over 30 years. He is the Chief Clinical Officer and VP of Clinical Services at Child Guidance Resource Centers, a private, nonprofit behavioral health setting for youth and families in the Philadelphia area. Kind-Rubin serves on the Youth and Family Training Institute Advisory Board, the State Leadership Management Team, and is the co-chair of the Children’s Committee of the State Mental Health Planning Council. He lives in Doylestown with his wife, Valerie and they have four adult daughters.

“Stephen, Andrew and Twain bring exceptional experience from both the education and psychology fields to NOVA,” said Penny Ettinger, Executive Director of NOVA. “Their expertise will help us as we continue our mission to support crime victims, prevent violence and educate our community. We are thrilled to have them join us as members of our board of directors.”
