Network
of Victim Assistance (NOVA) has announced that its 9th Annual NO BULLying Run
will be held virtually again this year and participants can walk, run, bike,
scooter, or skate (indoors or out) and choose
their own course and distance.
The
event, which raises awareness about the effects and consequences of bullying
and funds NOVA’s efforts to combat
bullying through school-based prevention education programs, will begin June 1
and continue through June 30, 2021. Throughout
the month, participants are asked to log their miles and report them via the
event’s results page - either daily or
weekly. Participants can complete their miles all at once or break them up
throughout the month. The results of all participants will be tallied for the
overall goal of 19,392 miles. Each mile represents one child who will be
bullied in Bucks County this year, according to statistics from PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center.
Participants can register at one of three levels: Free, Standard or Premium. Anyone can participate in this year’s event and register for free. The registration fee for the Standard Level is $15.00 and includes a 2021 NO BULLying Run tech t-shirt. The registration fee for the Premium Level is $30.00 and includes a 2021 NO BULLying Run tech t-shirt and the 2021 NO BULLying Run medal. Standard and Premium participants will have the opportunity to compete for NOVA’s coveted bull trophies by completing the most miles during the month in their age category, and for completing the most miles overall. Age categories are: 10 and under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80 and over. In addition, all participants will be eligible to win prizes for participating in weekly family-friendly challenges and logging their miles.
All participants will receive a NO BULLying event giveaway to show their commitment to end bullying. In addition, members of the Girl Scouts are welcome to participate in the event and earn a “Stop Bullying” badge. In order to earn the badge, the Girl Scout must be registered and must enter their troop number during the registration process.

Merck & Co., Inc. and Bugajewski Facility Services (Platinum Sponsors), Elrath Construction and Ascensus (Gold Sponsors), and Waypoint Financial, Stark & Stark, Antheil, Maslow & MacMinn, Robert Riesenberger, DDS, Pediatric Dentistry, and Stan and Shelli Dunn (Silver Sponsors).
“Whether you run, walk, stroll, or roll outside or indoors on exercise equipment, every mile counts,” said Angela McGettigan, NOVA’s Director of Community Relations and Development. “Remember, if you walk as a family, you can log the miles for each person, including children. In fact, children who are registered at the Standard or Premium level are eligible to win bull trophies in their age groups for their miles. We encourage individuals and families to sign up and demonstrate their commitment to help put an end to bullying in our communities.”
