NOVA, the leading non-profit organization in Bucks County supporting
victims of serious crime, is pleased to announce that the following business and community leaders have joined their Board of Directors. This group of men and women bring to NOVA their varied life and professional experiences with a common commitment to NOVA’s mission.
The
new board officers are:
President - Sarah Larson, Executive Vice President, Client and Public Relations, Furia Rubel Communications. Larson has worked as a teacher, entrepreneur, reporter and editor. In addition, she has served as Vice President of Media Strategy and Vice President of Public Relations for several local companies. In addition to her commitment to NOVA, Larson has served on the Board of Directors for Pennridge FISH, has been a committee member on several other Bucks County nonprofit organizations’ boards and has been an annual presenter for #girlSTEM.
Vice President - Dr. Twain Gonzales is a
licensed clinical psychologist who has
worked in a private psychology practice for over two decades. He currently works with Bucks County
Psychological and Assessment Services. Gonzales has also served as clinical director of a nonprofit agency that provides services
to at-risk youth in Philadelphia, worked as a clinical psychologist
within the Delaware State Prison system and co-founded and operated a
restaurant in Lewes, Delaware.
Secretary - Carin A. O’Donnell, Esq., shareholder and member of Stark & Stark’s Accident & Personal Injury and Construction Injury Groups. O’Donnell’s area of expertise is catastrophic injury. She is an instructor in Civil Practice and Procedure at Manor
College in Jenkintown, where she organizes mock trials for students.
Treasurer - Charles T. Field, Executive
Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Penn Community Bank (PCB). As Chief
Financial Officer, Field safeguards the financial management of Penn Community
Bank. In addition to his work with NOVA, Field serves on the board of directors and is treasurer of the Bucks
County Health Improvement Partnership (BCHIP).
New board members are:
Fizal Nabbie, Principal Scientist, Bristol Myers Squibb. Nabbie
is dedicated to developing novel medicines to help improve quality of life. He
has an interest in different sciences and is associated with multiple
scientific organizations. He has also served on the board for the Tuscarora
Lapidary Society, AAPS Biotech Student Committee and Advanced Computer Engines.
Tonya Resutek, Director of Marketing – Lung Cancer, Olympus Corporation of the Americas, Inc. Resutek is a passionate believer in equality and human rights, especially for women.
Karen Kern is a returning member to the NOVA Board of Directors. She is a Licensed Social Worker who has worked with the Penn Foundation, most recently as its Outpatient Director, providing overall management for the organization’s Mental Health Outpatient services.
“It is very exciting to have our new slate of Officers on the NOVA Board of Directors as well as two new board members and one returning board member,” said Penelope Ettinger, NOVA’s Executive Director. “Each brings their respective expertise and commitment to NOVA’s mission, which is exceptional. I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with all of them.”
