NOVA, the leading non-profit organization in Bucks County supporting victims of serious crimes, was awarded a $10,000 BIIG (Bucks Innovation and
Improvement Grant) grant from Foundations Community Partnership (FCP). The grant funds will be used to provide
digital safety prevention programs to students in Bucks County schools
throughout the 2022-2023 school year.
The goal of the digital safety programs is to help students develop and practice smart online habits, lower the risk of victimization, reduce cyber and in-person bullying and encourage safe and respectful online interactions. As technology continues to evolve, it is more important than ever to educate young people about how to use technology in ways that contribute to their education and help them to grow as individuals. That is what NOVA’s digital safety programs aim to achieve.
“We want to prepare students to be able to thrive in a connected world,” noted Mary Worthington, NOVA’s Director of Prevention Education and Training. “The BIIG grant will help us to teach students throughout Bucks County the ins and outs of becoming responsible digital citizens. We are grateful to The Foundation Community Partnership for awarding NOVA this grant.”
“We are proud to continue our support of NOVA and the important programs and services it offers in Bucks County,” said Abigail Halloran, Chair of FCP’s Board of Directors. “NOVA’s digital safety program is a crucial resource in helping Bucks County students navigate today’s complex digital environment.”
