How to keep your sanity while wedding planning
Planning a wedding can be an emotional and mentally exhausting time. It is important to keep your mental health high on the priority list. One of the most important things to do is ask for help. You can’t be a hero and do everything yourself. By doing so you will in the end make your stress level much higher then necessary. Delegating responsibilities is the healthiest way to approach your day.
Do not procrastinate on decision making. Leaving every decision to the very end will
leave you with a pile of tasks that need to be handled. These tasks will need to be decided immediately
with no time to really absorb all of your options. Do yourself a favor and give yourself adequate
time to make your decisions throughout the planning process.
Setting boundaries is a good thing. This wedding is about you and your fiancé, your decisions regarding your wedding are yours to make. You can not let your family put pressure on you to have the wedding that they have envisioned for you. If you have a complicated relationship with your family and you are getting to much unsolicited feedback it is best to hold true to your boundaries to maintain a peaceful and relaxed planning environment.
The current social media climate buts unrealistic expectations on wedding planning. The pressure to host the “perfect” wedding is real and intense. Taking a moment to sit back during the planning process to realize that your wedding day is perfect because you are marrying the love of your life and not because of an “Instagram worthy photo”.
