Welcome to The Payroll Factory April 2024 Newsletter. The April 15th tax season deadline is 2 weeks away. This month’s edition focuses on reciprocity between states regarding withholding/income taxes.
Currently there are roughly 16 states including Washington
DC that have reciprocity agreements with other states. Let us take a deep dive in the Mid-Atlantic
states that have reciprocity.
Pennsylvania has reciprocity with Indiana, Maryland, New
Jersey, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia.
New Jersey has reciprocity with only Pennsylvania.
Maryland has reciprocity with Pennsylvania, Virginia,
Washington DC and West Virginia.
Washington DC has reciprocity with Maryland and Virginia.
Please feel free to circulate among your staff and above all
your clients. Lastly, 1st
quarter 2024 payroll tax reports are ready to be filed by payroll processors
and accounting firms that do after the fact payroll. Please make sure your clients have provided
the payroll processors, yourself or staff their 2024 Pennsylvania UC rate
notice.
