MIDDLETOWN — QDOBA Mexican Eats, a popular fast-casual modern Mexican restaurant, opened its doors on Monday at the Summit Square Shopping Center.
Leaders of the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce joined State Rep. Frank Farry and Middletown Township Manager Stephanie Teoli in cutting the ribbon on the township’s newest eatery.
“We are really excited to be a part of this community. Our team has worked really hard and we are looking forward to serving this community,” said Pranav Desai who joined his business partner Jigger Patel of Ivyland in opening the new eatery.
This is the first store in
Bucks County for the partners who operate 32 QDOBA Mexican Eats restaurants in
Montgomery County and the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York
and Delaware. They will soon be opening a second location at the Target Center
across from the Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem.
“We love the brand,” said Desai. “The leadership is great. The food is amazing. And it is well received by the community. Four years in a row it has won the Readers Choice Award. It’s all about the food and the flavor. Everything is fresh. Everything is made from scratch.
“No one offers the same kind of queso that we offer. We’re the only brand where all the extras are included at one price. At a lot of our competitors they charge for extra queso or whatever you include. Here we have one price. The public should definitely come here and check it out,” said Desai.
The new Summit Square
eatery seats up to 45 patrons with indoor and outdoor patio seating available.
The building is also equipped with a set of garage doors, which can be opened
up during the summer months.
“This opening is a another sign of economic growth in the county. And it’s another sign that we’re getting back to normal. Our restaurants are again full of customers,” said Minesh V. Pathak, Executive Director of the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce. “This is a great addition to the shopping center. This is a busy area so they will do well. We wish them much success and a lot of customers.”
“We’d like to thank them for locating the business in Middletown. It’s always good to have opportunities to serve the public as well as providing employment opportunities,” added State Rep. Frank Farry who attended the event with his wife, Langhorne Borough Councilwoman Kristen Farry.
“We’re very happy to welcome them to the community. We’re excited for the jobs it brings and also for the dining options it gives our residents,” added Teoli.
The chain was founded in
1995 as the Zuma Fresh Mexican Grill by Colorado native Anthony Miller and
partner Robert Hauser at Grant Street and Sixth Avenue in Denver. The name was
later changed to QDOBA, which means flavor.
Today QDOBA has more than 700 locations in the U.S. and Canada and is known for its classic Mexican-inspired entrées, including its burritos (wrapped and bowls), grilled quesadillas, taco salads (shell or bowl), chips and dips and three-cheese nachos.
Customers can also create their own bowls by choosing an entree, a protein, additional flavors, salsas and sauces, or order one of the eatery’s signature entrees – Fresca chicken bowl, Cholula Hot & Sweet Chicken, Impossible fajita bowl, chicken protein bowl and street chicken tacos.
Patrons can then top off
their meals with guacamole and its signature creamy three-cheese queso at no
extra cost.
Inspired by the culinary traditions of Mexico, Latin America, and beyond, QDOBA’s flavor combinations are free of colors from artificial sources, high fructose corn syrup, added MSG, partially hydrogenated oil, and lard. Ingredients are freshly prepared by hand throughout the day?to create its chef-crafted signature eats.
“These combinations are created in our kitchens with no microwaves or can-openers,” said the restaurateurs. “We’re talking about made in-house-by-hand-every-single-day freshness, like our made-from-scratch pico de gallo, open flame-grilled ‘chicken and steak,’ and hand-crafted guacamole. No matter what flavor combination you order, you can always feel good about eating at QDOBA.”
For four years running, QDOBA has been voted the “Best Fast Casual Restaurant” as part of?USA Today’s?10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
Qdoba at Summit Square
