The year is half way done and 3rd quarter has
just begun.
On July 1st, residents and non-residents who work
in the City of Philadelphia will see a slight decrease in the Philadelphia Wage
Tax.
For residents the wage tax will go from 3.8712% to 3.8398%,
For non-residents who work in the City of Philadelphia the
wage tax will decrease from 3.5019% to 3.4201%.
Are your clients aware of the tax credits available for
providing time off for workers to be vaccinated from Covid-19? Your clients can take tax credits for up to
80 hours of paid sick leaved equal to the employee’s wage, capped at $511 per
day up to $5,110 for employees who were sick or quarantining, awaiting a Covid
test or obtaining/recovering from a vaccine.
These tax credits apply to employers with less than 500 employees.
