The Payroll Factory, Inc. July 2022 Newsletter
We turn the page and with the month of July head into the
second half of 2022. The July newsletter
focuses in on two items involving the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia.
As of Friday July 1st, 2022 the Philadelphia Wage
Tax will be reduced for both residents and non-resident rate. For Philadelphia residents the wage tax drops
to 3.79% from 3.8398% and Non-Residents working in the City of Philadelphia see
the tax drop from 3.4481% to 3.44%.
Philadelphia City Council early in June passed legislation
requiring local employers to provide benefits toward covering mass
transit/bicycle commuting. This would
mandate employers with 50 or more full time employees in Philadelphia to offer
a commuter benefit program. If signed by
Mayor Jim Kenney this legislation would take place on December 31st,
2022 heading into the 2023 calendar year.
Please feel free to share with your clients and staff. As always, I look forward to working with
you, your associates and above all your clients. Thank you very much and have a wonderful July
4th holiday weekend.
Sincerely,
Steve Sabel
