We turn the page and head into the month of August. Keep this next item on your radar as we head
into the fall.
Toward the end of June, the U.S. Department of Labor
announced that its proposed overtime rule is scheduled to be released sometime
in October. One of the priorities is to
increase the salary level from the rate of $35,568 to as high as $47, 476 or
even higher. Another potential priority
of the DOL is the creation of an annual/periodic increase to the salary level
tied to the consumer price index or another economic indicator. There will be more clarity as we head into
the fall of this year.
